Editorial Policy — How FarmSutras Creates Content

This page explains how FarmSutras creates, reviews, and maintains its content. It also explains how we use AI tools, how we handle corrections, and how the site is funded.

We publish this because readers — and search engines — deserve to know who is behind the information they are reading.

Who creates our content

All FarmSutras articles are written and edited by Brajesh Raj, the founder. Brajesh comes from a farming family in Darbhanga, Bihar, and works on his family’s dairy farm alongside his studies in digital marketing at Jaipur National University.

Author information is listed on each article and on the author page →

As the site grows, additional writers may contribute. When that happens, each article will carry its own named author with a linked bio, and this page will be updated.

Our sourcing standards

We prioritize primary and authoritative sources. In practice, that means:

  • Government sources — CACP, PIB, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, state agriculture departments, and official scheme portals.
  • Agricultural institutions — ICAR, IARI, state agricultural universities, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
  • Academic and industry publications — peer-reviewed journals, FAO reports, and credible industry research where relevant.
  • News and secondary sources — used mainly for context, and only when the primary source is not accessible.

Where a source is used, we link to it directly in the article. If a number or claim cannot be traced to a source we can verify, we do not publish it as fact.

How we use AI tools

We are open about this: AI tools are used in our content process.

Specifically, we use AI for:

  • Research assistance and organizing information
  • Drafting support and rewriting for clarity
  • Checking grammar, structure, and readability

We do not use AI to:

  • Generate statistics, quotes, testimonials, or expert opinions
  • Fabricate sources or credentials
  • Publish content without human review

Every article is reviewed and edited by a human before publication. The final responsibility for accuracy, clarity, and usefulness rests with the author, not with any AI tool.

Accuracy and verification

Before publication, we verify:

  • Numbers and statistics — traced to their original source
  • Scheme details — checked against the official government portal (eligibility, amounts, deadlines)
  • Prices — checked against current market or official data, with the date noted
  • Technical claims — checked against academic or institutional sources where possible

If we cannot verify a claim, we either omit it or clearly state that it is unverified. We do not present estimates as facts.

Content updates

Agriculture changes. MSP rates are revised, scheme rules change, new technologies emerge, and old information becomes misleading.

We review and update articles when:

  • A scheme’s rules, amounts, or deadlines change
  • New official data is released (for example, annual MSP announcements)
  • A reader points out an error or outdated detail
  • A significant development makes the existing article incomplete

Updated articles carry a visible “Last updated” date.

Corrections policy

If you find an error, please email contact@farmsutras.com with:

  • The URL of the article
  • The specific error
  • The correct information, with a source if possible

We aim to review and correct genuine errors within 7 days. Where a correction is significant, we may add a note at the bottom of the article explaining what changed.

Advertising and affiliate disclosure

FarmSutras does not currently display advertising, and does not currently use affiliate links.

In the future, we may use advertising or affiliate partnerships to support the site. If and when that happens:

  • Ads will be clearly distinguishable from editorial content
  • Affiliate relationships will be disclosed on any page that uses them
  • Commercial relationships will never influence what we recommend or how we rate a product, tool, or scheme

We do not accept payment for positive coverage.

Educational content disclaimer

FarmSutras publishes educational content. It is not a substitute for professional advice.

Farming outcomes depend on soil, climate, seed variety, water availability, local regulations, and many other factors. Agricultural schemes and prices vary by state and change over time. Livestock health decisions should always involve a qualified veterinarian.

Always validate any practice against your own field conditions and, where relevant, consult a local agricultural extension officer, veterinarian, or other qualified professional before applying it.
